The American Caramel E90-1 issue is sometimes referred to as the T206
of
caramel issues, and has been dubbed "The Kraken" in some quarters due
to the challenges of collecting the 120 subjects found within. The set
was issued with a
stick of caramel that, as one might imagine, led to condition issues
which plague the set.
This example is centered nicely save for some minor diamond cutting which leaves the top left corner just a hair higher than the right. Corners and edges are nicer than the grade, though a slight registration error and some snow on the image keep this one from grading higher than it already has.
PSA has only ever graded 30 total examples of this 1909 E90-1 American Caramel, with only eight receiving a higher grade than the VG 3 offered here of St. Louis' Ed Phelps.
