The 1915 E106 set is essentially a reissue of poses found in the earlier
E 90-2 and E 92 sets., with several team changes made. While not as popular as some of the earlier caramel issues, E106 cards
are difficult to obtain. They came out an an opportune
time and are noteworthy for
referencing the upstart Federal League.
This example features a bright yellow to green gradient background behind an image of the Federal League star finishing his throwing motion. While centering is nice and the corners and edges are all slightly nicer than the grade, a crease starting in the center of the bottom border and running diagonally up to Stovall's elbow is the explanation for PSA's assessment here. Still a tough card with lots of eye appeal.
PSA
has only ever graded 11 total examples of this E106, with only three receiving a higher grade than the Fair 1.5 offered here of Kansas City's George Stovall.
