The 1915 E106 set is essentially a reissue of poses found in the earlier
E 90-2 and E 92 sets., with several team changes made. While not as popular as some of the earlier caramel issues, E106 cards
are difficult to obtain. They came out an an opportune
time and are noteworthy for
referencing the upstart Federal League.
This example features a bright blue background behind a close up portrait of the Federal League star. Centering is a hair south on the canvas, with some minor diamond cutting which leaves the top left corner just a hair higher than the right. Corners and edges are consistent with the grade while some light surface wear and toning keeps this one from grading even higher.
PSA
has only ever graded 11 total examples of this E106, with only four
receiving a higher grade than the Good 2 offered here of Brooklyn's Danny Murphy.
