Stunning 7.25" x 10" borderless original photo of White Sox southpaw Dickey Kerr in 1925 (as evidenced by the unique uniform style only worn that season). Kerr is most remembered as a squeaky clean member of the 1919 White Sox, eight of whom infamously conspired to throw the World Series. Just a rookie at the time, Kerr won his start in Game 3 of the series; a dominating three-hit shutout of the Reds. Four days later, with his team facing elimination in Game 6, Kerr went 10 innings to secure a 5-4 Sox victory and keep Chicago's hopes alive for another day. The presented photograph appears to have survived in excellent overall condition with the only condition flaws appearing on verso in the form of a few handwritten notations and tape residue along the left edge. Credit stamping from Wide World has been applied towards the lower-left corner. Guaranteed Type 1.
