Collection of four original Type 1 news service photos depicting former Chicago White Sox center fielder, Happy Felsch. In 1921 Felsch was permanently banned from organized baseball by Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis for consorting with gamblers to throw the 1919 World Series. Felsch's banishment relegated him to compete in a variety of amateur and semi-pro leagues, three of which are depicted here. Includes:

1) c.1933 photo of Felsch competing in an amateur league for a team called the Bucher Brews. General handling wear visible with rough-cut edges. Newspaper clipping attached to verso provides context to the image. Aprox 7.5 x 9.5 and guaranteed Type 1. 2) 1932 photo depicting Happy Felsch with an amateur club apparently sponsored by Triangle Billiards. Unevenly trimmed around the perimeter with crisp and detailed image. Date stamping of May 10, 1932 appears on reverse. Guaranteed Type 1 (7" x 8.75"). (3, 4) c.1927 pair of related horizontal photos with player/manager Happy Felsch and his Regina Balmorals out of Saskatchewan. Verso of both photos remain blank and each measures approx. 3.75" x 8.5" with unevenly trimmed top and right edges. Both guaranteed Type 1.
