Pair of 1914 glass magic lantern slides featuring Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie fielding at spring training in Athens, GA. Each image has been inscribed, with the first reading "Larry - So Easy" and the second reading "Just as Easy - Larry." Black paper borders surrounding the 3.25" x 4" slides remain fully intact with some soiling resting on the glass surface. A paper label remains affixed to lower-right corner of each slide, presumably for numbering purposes, though no markings are present. These slides originate from the estate of former Cleveland Plain Dealer staff photographer Frank W. Smith, who traveled with the Cleveland Naps to their spring facilities for many years during the 1910's. Two of close to sixty original glass magic lantern slides offered in our spring auction from the original photographer's collection. All slides from this collection have been professionally imaged and winning bidders will receive both the slides and a one-of-a-kind 8" x 10" archival quality print with their shipment.
