Outstanding original Charles Conlon photo depicting thirty four year old Washington Senators shortstop, Roger Peckinpaugh. Taken in 1925, Peckinpaugh is seen during the midst of his MVP season, though voting was quite different during this era and previous winners were ineligible. The Senators captured their second consecutive American League pennant in 1925, hoping to also repeat as World Series champions but dropped the Fall Classic in seven games to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Photo remains in phenomenal overall condition with gentle wear to the corners remaining the only blemishes of note. Photo surface remains bold and fee of wrinkles with Peckinpaugh beautifully centered on the 6.5" x 8.5" paper. Verso displays Conlon's handwritten ID of Peckinpaugh towards the top along with his trademark "Conlon Photo" signature at the bottom. A "Cr. The Ring" notation also appears.
