Somewhat derisively (yet accurately) nicknamed "Fat" Freddie Fitzsimmons, pitched nineteen big league seasons, all of them in New York City, where his sandwiched seven seasons in Brooklyn with two Giants stints, some of which were quite impressive. He won 217 lifetime games and appeared in three World Series clashes, grabbing the crown with New York in 1933. Fitzsimmons passed in 1979, rendering his signature difficult, particularly on a card. Signed here in black ink, there is a little lift seen in the autograph but with an overall pleasant look.  Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, the card has been removed from a scrapbook (hence the paper loss on the reverse). The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
