Author of a 13-year major league career outfielder Ira Flagstead boasted a .290 batting average and .370 on base percentage primarily with the Red Sox. Flagstead passed away at the young age of 46 in 1940 making his signature a rare and difficult one to obtain. This example is an incredibly attractive one though Flagstead's signature appears light on the face of the card it is clear and legible. The reverse of the card as with many Exhibits is marked with biographical information applied in both ink and pencil by a long-ago collector.
