Long after manager Bill Skiff enjoyed a cup of coffee with the 1921 Pittsburgh Pirates and 1926 New York Yankees, Skiff managed in the minor leagues for 14 seasons between 1933-51. Offered is a large-format framed team photo of Skiff's AAA 1949 Kansas City Blues of the American Association containing signatures from nearly all individuals represented. Unfortunately, the signatures have faded over time likely due to the effects of conditions present while in long-term storage. Interestingly, with only a handful of exceptions, nearly the entire roster of Skiff's 1949 squad would report to the major leagues for at least a short time in their careers. Heavy soiling is present to reverse of the 10" x 19" framed photo which includes a horizontal wire for hanging. Consigned to us directly from the estate of Bill Skiff himself.
