The N162 Goodwin Champions set featured greats from several sports and pastimes, including Lawn Tennis. A lithographic tour de force from the 19th Century, the cards were printed in Philadelphia by Geo. S. Harris & Sons, a firm that clearly knew what it was doing, and distributed in packs of Goodwin & Co.'s Gypsy Queen cigarettes. This colorful PSA 4 features Robert Livingston Beeckman, with a superb candy-cane jacket the highlight of his sartorial style. Fairly graded, with superb color and some fairly minor corner wear evident, a wet-sheet transfer can be seen, primarily running across the top of the obverse. The reverse is mostly toned and highly legible. Livingston went on to become the Governor of Rhode Island. serving from 1915-21.
