Lot Description  

Original 1941 news service photo of 55 year old Ty Cobb competing in a best-of-three charity golf tournament against Babe Ruth. Both Hall of Famers were avid golfers following their baseball careers and the historic matchup was organized to support the USO and the war effort. 7" x 9" photo has survived in impeccable overall condition with bright white borders and sharp corners. Verso includes credit stampings from both Acme and NEA below a full paper caption detailing the occasion. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
