Tremendous 8" x 10" news service photo depicting former Deadball Era star, Bill Dahlen holding two photos of himself with the Brooklyn Superbas. In Dahlen's right hand is an image likely familiar to many collector's: a Carl Horner cabinet photograph that served as the source material for Dahlen's portrait card in the T206 white border series. In his left hand is a larger photo that may not be immediately recognizable but remains significant nonetheless - an enlargement of the image used to produce Dahlen's elusive 1912 E300 Plow's Candy card.
This photo of Dahlen, reminiscing about his career during the later stages of his life, boasts a beautifully sharp image with thin, bright-white borders. Verso is exceptionally clean with a Sporting News hologram in the lower-right corner and two inscriptions written in pencil along the top and left-hand borders. The word "Brooklyn" is also written in ballpoint at the very top and credit stamping from photographer William C. Greene appears in blue. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
