1889 cabinet photo featuring Cleveland pitcher Ed Beatin, the image that would become pose #24-1 in the N172 Old Judge issue.  Though the image quality is exceptional, the photo does exhibit some foxing, most pronounced along the top portion of the image.  A heavy crease has developed into a tear at the top right, with what appears to be a pinhole at the bottom.  Still, a difficult example of the proof card on which an N172 Old Judge was based.
