Hall of Fame second baseman Eddie Collins poses for the cameras at the Polo Grounds in this 5" x 7" original news service photo from George Grantham Bain. While verso includes a date stamp from October 3, 1919 (the date of Game 3 of the 1919 World Series), the image likely hails from 1917 as this photo served as the source material for Collins' 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy card. Overall condition remains Excellent with no obvious imperfections to surface of the photo but the image appears to have been slightly overexposed. Verso exhibits a dark stain in the upper-right corner and several credit stampings appear, including those from both Bain's service and Culver Pictures, Inc.  Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
