August 8, 1941 letter from future Hall of Fame umpire Tommy Connolly to Bill Skiff, then manager of the Seattle Rainiers.  Connolly served as Umpire-in-Chief for the American League, and part of his role was to serve as sort of a human resources manager, interviewing prospective umpiring candidates.  Such is the subject of this letter, reaching out to Skiff - by then a knowledgeable baseball long-timer - asking if he was aware of any potential umpiring prospects for the American League.  A friendly letter, Connolly closes it by saying "Kindly let me hear from you, or we won't be on speaking terms when we meet at the Yankee Stadium in the World Series."

Connolly's signature is bold and black written in steel-tip fountain pen.  The letter itself appears in EX condition with folds from being stored in an envelope, along with some soiling and age-related discoloration at the edges.  Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
