Most remembered today as long-time batterymate (1897-1908) of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, catcher Lou Criger appeared in only 27 games for the New York Highlanders in 1910. Here, towards the tail-end of his 16-year career, Criger throws it around the horn with those Highlanders at Hilltop park. A fine example of photographer Charles Conlon's work during the Deadball Era, this 8" x 10" photo boasts a clear central image with the only notable imperfections isolated to the corners. Pinholes and creases are present to all four corners though more evident on verso. Verso suffers from mild toning to the left and right edges and includes handwritten editorial notations along with Conlon's personal stamping. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
