Striking a popular pose synonymous with early baseball photography, long-time Clevelander, Terry Turner appears ready for a grounder in this 8" x 10" photo from Charles M. Conlon. If not for the bookend season's of his career (two games with Pittsburgh in 1901, and 38 games with the Athletics in 1919) Turner would have spent the entirety of his 17 major league seasons with the Naps/Indians. To this day Turner remains Cleveland's all-time leader in games played with 1,619. The presented photo, shot at Hilltop Park, displays beautifully though there is a large crease present in the lower right third of the paper starting at the right edge and moving down across Turner's glove. Mild smudging is present along the right edge on verso where Charles Conlon's personal stamping appears along with his handwritten ID of Turner. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
