Leadoff man for four Boston Red Sox World Series Championship teams (1912, 1915, 1916, 1918), outfielder Harry Hooper warms up on the sidelines at the Polo Grounds in this glorious 8" x 10" photo from Charles M. Conlon. Mr. Conlon has stopped Hooper mid-toss, providing a fantastic look at Hooper's unlaundered uniform, complete with grime and bursting at the seams as the man peeks just over his right shoulder. This is an extraordinary example of Conlon's work though minor chipping is present to the upper and lower corners on the right side and an approx.l 1/2" tear appears next to Hooper's right hand. Verso remains clean and free of toning and other noteworthy condition issues. Charles Conlon's personal stamp has been obscured with grease pencil though his handwritten identification of Hooper remains. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
