A superb, full-body action photo of Boston Red Sox utility man Del Gainer from the lens of Charles Martin Conlon. Gainer is pictured here at the Polo Grounds while playing for the Boston Red Sox between the years of 1914 and 1919. First baseman/outfielder Gainer accumulated two World Series titles during his time with the Red Sox during both the 1915 and 1916 campaigns, tallying a single AB during the 1916 World Series against the Brooklyn Robins which produced a game-winning, walk-off single in Game 2. Photo surface is clean but both the upper right and lower right corners do display some chipping. Charles Conlon stamping presents beautifully on verso which also includes "D.C Gainor (Red Sox)" written in pencil by Mr. Conlon himself. Measures 8x10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
