The Cracker Jack Old Timer's Baseball Classic was developed by former Braves executive Dick Cecil and took place at RFK Stadium in Washington every July beginning in 1982 and ending in 1990. The game became instantly famous due to 75-year-old Luke Appling slugging a 275-foot home run off Warren Spahn in the inaugural game. Each game was televised on ESPN. Presented here is a pair of press pins from the 1983 and 1984 contest from the collection of former Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson who attended both games. Both in excellent condittion both relatively difficult to find.
