Attractive purple felt pennant from the first game of the All-Star "doubleheader" in 1960 played at the home of the Kansas City Athletics Municipal Stadium in Kansas City. In an interesting twist the "scroll" containing the names of the players is wrapped around a baseball bat held in the trunk of an elephant the logo of the Athletics. The elephant stands atop a baseball positioned in the midst of a pink diamond. Future Hall of Famers listed in the scroll include Ted Williams Luis Aparicio Mickey Mantle Yogi Berra Nellie Fox and Al Lopez. Oddly despite the fact that he played in Kansas City for the Athletics in 1958 and 1959 Roger Maris' name is misspelled "Marris." The pennant appears in EX condition or better with one notable exception - a small hole appears in the gold reinforcement at the left edge through which one can see the purple felt behind it. A small thumbtack hole is also visible in the reinforcement with another barely visible at the top. A small black area that appears in the photo along the top edge of the pennant is a Photoshop artifact and does not appear on the pennant itself. A beautiful pennant.
