Outstanding original cartoon artwork by Boston Globe cartoonist Phil Bissell the creator of "Patriot Pat " the New England Patriots mascot. The humorous illustration depicts two young baseball fans one in Yankees garb and the other in Red Sox glaring at each other menancingly an outstanding illustration of the longstanding animosity between fans of the two teams. Undated the 9 3/4" x 8 1/2" pen and ink illustration really could have been made at virtually any point in American League history but most likely dates to more recent times. EX condition with some age-related toning at the edges and some bleed-through of the ink on the reverse. An outstanding and humorous illustration from a well-known sports cartoonist.
