Attractive pair of framed large-format advertising displays for Iroquois Beer each featuring sports imagery. Includes the following: 1) 1940 Joe Louis: Large poster featuring a news service photo of Joe Louis' knockout of Johnny Paychek Paychek still lying on the canvas. Professionally matted and framed to a finished size of approximately 20" x 24" the piece displays quite well some light wrinkling and horizontal and vertical creases from being folded for storage evident upon close inspection. 2) 1940 Honus Wagner 67th Birthday: News service photo of the Pirates celebrating Wagner's birthday including a number of teammates blowing out the candles on his cake. Framed to a finished size of approximately 20" x 23 1/2" the piece exhibits significant wear upon close inspection including staining and wrinkling to the photo itself. Extensive inpainting has been done to the right edge from top to bottom restoring a border and lightening the edge. The inpainting looks fine at a distance but is obvious up close meaning little attempt to deceive was made when treating the piece. Despite the restoration and staining the piece presents very well particularly alongside the Louis piece. Two framed items total.
