One of the greatest defensive shorstops of all-time Mark Belanger patrolled the left side of the Baltimore infield from 1965 through 1982 a .228 lifetime batting average including a few seasons flirting with the famed Mendoza line not enough of a detriment for manager Earl Weaver - a proponent of the three-run home run - to pull his outstanding glove off the field. Belanger was enough of a difference-maker in the field to have received MVP votes in 1969 1973 and 1974 making the All-Star team in 1976 and winning eight Gold Gloves. Wilson size 40 pullover jersey from 1980 a beautiful orange alternate jersey from a season where Baltimore's 100 wins were only good enough for second place in the AL East as the Yankees won 103. In outstanding condition the uniform shows signs of light use consistent with Belanger's splitting time with Kiko Garcia that season. The jersey part of the Ted Patterson collection and likely obtained directly from Belanger has been awarded a perfect grade of A10 by MEARS. Full LOA from MEARS.
