Attractive 20" x 14" matted and framed display featuring nine ticket stubs to All-Star games including the first for Jackie Robinson a truly groundbreaking game. Collection includes the following: 1) 1957 All-Star Game: Busch Stadium controversial game because Cincinnati fans stuffed the ballot box causing all but one of their players to be starters. Ford Frick's investigation discovered that the Cincinnati Enquirer had printed up pre-marked ballots and distributed them with the Sunday paper to make it easy for Reds fans to vote for their home players. Ford Frick revoked the voting rights of fans a punishment that remained until 1970. Ticket stub appears in EX condition. 2) 1953 All-Star Game: Crosley Field. National League wins 5-1. VG stub light corner wear and a few light wrinkles. 3) 1960 All-Star Game (Second Game): Yankee Stadium. The All-Star game was played as a doubleheader the first game at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City. The NL won both contests. Stub is in VG condition with light wrinkling and some staining at the right edge. 4) 1950 All-Star Game: Comiskey Park. 14-inning contest the first All-Star game to go into extra innings the NL winning on a home run by Red Schoendienst in the top of the inning. VG condition with corner and light edge wear. 5) 1949 All-Star Game: Ebbets Field an 11-7 American League rompwith home runs by National Leaguers Stan Musial and Ralph Kiner. A game of historical significance the first to have African-American players in the lineup as Jackie Robinson Roy Campanella Don Newcombe and Larry Doby all made their respective teams. VG condition light wrinkle and corner ding at the lower-left. 6) 1956 All-Star Game: Griffith Stadium a 7-3 National League win with home runs by Mickey Mantle Willie Mays Ted Williams and Stan Musial. POOR condition torn with significant creasing and staining at the lower-right corner. 7) 1955 All-Star Game: Milwaukee County Stadium a 6-5 National League win with home runs by Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial. VG condition with mild creasing and wear along the perforated edge. 8) 1951 All-Star Game: Briggs Stadium an 8-3 National League victory with six home runs by six different players. VG condition with minor staining and edge wear. 9) 1959 All-Star Game: Forbes Field Game 1 a 5-4 National League win with an Al Kaline and Eddie Mathews home run. VG condition with edge wear and light wrinkling. A wonderful display nine ticket stubs in total.
