Far more attractive than the assigned grade this N300 Mayo's card of Kid Nichols has received an assessment of VG 3 from SGC due we suppose to some minor chipping at the bottom border along with additional chipping at the top left corner. SOme very minor staining and chipping is also evident on the reverse. The card image however is simply fantastic a clear and well-centered photo of the Hall of Fame pitcher with square corners and relatively sharp and unblemished edges. Another example of how technical grade does not do justice to the aesthetic appeal of a well-preserved 19th Century card.
