Superlative original news service photograph depicting Chicago White Sox center fielder, Happy Felsch, posed on the top step of his dugout. Felsch was a star who patrolled the outfield for White Sox teams of 1915-20, capturing a World Series title in 1917 before being banished from organized baseball for life due to his involvement in the Black Sox Scandal. Felsch was famously one of the "Eight Men Out," banned from the game in 1921 along with teammates Buck Weaver, Eddie Cicotte, Chick Gandil, Lefty Wiliams, Swede Risberg, Fred McMullin, and Shoeless Joe Jackson. This image was published in the Oct. 1917 issue of Baseball Magazine under a headline reading "Oscar Felsch and his Phenomenal Work in Comiskey's Outfield." We have chosen to include an image of the article with this listing for reference purposes. Photo measures approx. 7.5" x 9.25" with pinholes to the top and bottom corners of left side. A 1996 Baseball Magazine hologram remains affixed to lower-right corner of verso with various handwritten pencil notations scattered throughout. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
