Walter "The Big Train" Johnson recorded 110 shutouts during his storied career. Only Grover Cleveland Alexander who recorded 90 has come reasonably close and it is quite likely to be a record that will never again be challenged in today's era of specialized relief pitchers. On May 2 of 1923 Johnson recorded his 100th a 2-0 gem against the Yankees where he gave up just three hits while walking four. Underneath however are handwritten notes potentially from Johnson's wife Hazel describing the events of the game. A wonderful document and personal photo originating directly from the estate of the pitching great.
