Produced by the People’s Tobacco Company sometime between 1911 and 1916 the T216 set is widely coveted by Pre-War collectors and immediately recognized as one of the most challenging of the era. Cards from this set come with 3 separate backs (Kotton Mino and Virginia Extra) and in two different card stocks (thin and thick.) This T216 card of George Stovall has a Mino Cigarettes reverse and is in remarkable condition for the set. Creaseless and with only some staining and stray ink this card retains a gorgeous overall appearance. Importantly this sample features not only George Stovall but Stovall when he was with the Kansas City Feds a team that was part of the short-lived Federal League between 1914 and 1915. Overall this is a tough card in great shape that features a neat team largely forgotten about in baseball history.
