Produced by the People’s Tobacco Company sometime between 1911 and 1916 the T216 set is widely coveted by Pre-War collectors and immediately recognized as one of the most challenging of the era. Cards from this set come with 3 separate backs (Kotton Mino and Virginia Extra) and in two different card stocks (thin and thick.) Graded SGC “authentic ” likely due to the card’s wear this sample features Bob Bescher and has a highly elusive Virginia Extra reverse and is printed on thin stock. Nearly all Virginia Extra cards printed on thin stock are found in this condition making it very normal for the set. Despite this wear it presents quite well compared to many of its peers and retains gorgeous colors making this collector-grade card a very presentable card of a set that is usually found in much worse shape.
