The T210 "Red Border" set is an enormous set of more than 600 minor leaguers that is divided into eight different series each featuring players from a different minor league. The 6th series featuring members of the Blue Grass League is commonly known as one of the more scarce. Cards in the 66-card set are rarely found in top condition; in fact while PSA has graded just 113 cards from the 6th series just 1 has graded above a 6.At the same time we recognize that particularly with prewar minor-league sets like the T210 Old Mill sets many collectors prefer to keep their cards raw. Still the grading company population reports in cases like these provide an excellent guideline for determining relative scarcity and difficulty in obtaining top-condition cards.Presented here is an anomaly. Third baseman Eddie Goostree one of the more popular subjects in the 6th series portrayed here in the "leaning on bat" pose graded EXCELLENT by SGC. Just one Goostree "leaning on bat" variety has graded higher - an EX-MT card graded by PSA. It goes without saying that a Series 6 Old Mill in this condition is rare - fewer than 330 copies have attained an EX grade in the entire set. This Goostree despite being off center left-to-right has four square corners and a clean surface. As with most cards from this issue some chipping along the borders is what accounts for the grade; without it this card is a crisp EX-MT card: a rare find in the hobby.Population data:SGC Population: 2 graded 1 at this level none higherPSA Population: 3 graded none at this level 1 higher
