4" x 6" photograph mounted to a 5" x 7" cardboard backing this photo depicts Pirates catcher Paddy O'Connor in full gear with chest protector mitt and mask awaiting an incoming pitch. O'Connor played very sparingly with the Pirates between 1908 and 1910 as a backup to George Gibson his only significant major league season coming with the Pittsburgh Rebels Federal League team of 1915. O'Connor did see significant time with the Springfield Ponies of the Connecticut State League between 1902 and 1907 however. The photo itself is in outstanding condition though there is some minor wear to the mount which has done an admirable job of protecting the photo over the years. From the Paddy O'Connor estate.
