Gorgeous group of four 19th Century engravings each featuring illustrations of Benjamin Franklin. Each engraving is matted and wrapped in protective cellophane simultaneously lending a beautiful appearance and preventing us from examining edges to determine whether edges and corners have any damage. Included are the following: 1) circa 1840s print "The Philosopher & His Kite" depicting Franklin and his son William flying a kite during a storm. Full-color print measuring approximately 6 1/2" x 5 1/2"; 2) 1806 J. Wilkes engraving 5 3/4" x 7 1/2" depicting a portrait of Franklin above a small image of Franklin and son flying the aforementioned kite; 3) Circa 1860 6" x 9" full-color engraving depicting a portrait of Franklin surrounded by an ornate border and 4) circa 1830 print measuring approximately 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" depicting Franklin at his desk reviewing papers. Four beautiful images of one of the country's Founding Fathers.
