Outstanding complete set of Topps Magic cards.Issued just one season before Topps" explosion onto the baseball card scene the "51 Topps Magic football cards featured 75 college players and were issued in two-card strips along with Topps gum. The "Magic" name stems from the game on the reverse which included a rub-off section which revealed the answer to a trivia question posed on the back of the card. Each of the cards in this collection presents strongly a very clean-looking and colorful set. Each of the backs have had the "magic" scratch-offs scratched off revealing the answer to the trivia question. The set contains therookie card of Vic Janowicz (the only graded card in this group assessed at EX/MT 6 by PSA). Cards from this issue are particularly susceptible to wrinkling and creasing and the perforations at the bottom or top of the card are not always clean as youngsters opening the packs were typically not careful about maintaining the condition of the cards. That being said the majority of these cards present strongly and while some of the cards contain surface wrinkling it is in most cases light wrinkling that does not mar the appearance of the card. A condition breakdown would be 8% EX/MT or better 16% EX 14% VG/EX 27% VG 30% G/VG or lesser. An outstanding clean mid-grade set from the early days of football cards containing an EX/MT example of the set"s key card: the rookie card of Vic Janowicz.
