I have one to sell!
Led by eventual Hall of Famer Connie Mack the 1910 Philadelphia Athletics finished 1st in the American League with a 102-48 record winning the World Series in five games over Chicago. A number of Hall of Famers dotted the roster include Eddie Collins Chief Bender Eddie Plank and Hone Run Baker as well as stars Harry Davis Rube Oldring Jack Coombs and more. A number of composite photos and premiums were distributed to commemorate the team. This image a team composite featuring a dominant image of Mack is well-known as both a pinback and a postcard but much less known as a large-format display piece. This example measuring 16 1/2" x 13 1/2" is printed on heavy cardboard remaining examples of this display are particularly scarce. This example features considerable wear particularly at the top and bottom edges and has been repaired on the reverse in many places along the top edge with clear tape. Some edge notching and paper flaking as a result of the chipping and tearing is also prevalent - the piece could certainly benefit from professional restoration simply to stabilize and protect the brittle edges. Despite all this the presentation is outstanding in its display quality the overwhelming majority of the wear restricted to outside the image area and not interfering with any of the player images. A small spot of damage is visible on Mack's collar however aside from this the display quality is outstanding. A remarkable piece.
