Beautiful 1922 New York Yankees payroll check as issued to George Perry signed by Jacob Ruppert and Tom Huston partners in ownership of the Yankees. Perry was the Yankees Public Relations man his $500 paycheck seems generous for that role in 1922. The reverse of the check is labeled "Donation - W.S. " perhaps meaning that the check in question has some relation to the 1922 World Series which the Yankees lost to the Giants in four games. The signature of Hall of Famer Ruppert is bold and dark slightly smudged at the "pp" in his last name but otherwise strong. The Huston signature is lighter yet still attractively placed along the check's left edge. Perry's endorsement also appears on the reverse of the check in the form of an endorsement. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
