Provenance in this hobby is something respected by collectors particularly with cards once owned by hobby pioneers. "Pedigreed" cards from the collections of the likes of Lionel Carter and Frank Nagy have commanded premiums in the hobby for years and collectors boast with pride when discovering cards bearing the owner stamp of collectors Jefferson Burdick or F. Scott Fitzgerald. This is a similar example a W575-1 of Hall of Famer Wilbert Robinson bearing the name and address stamp of hobby pioneer Charles "Buck" Barker. Clearly condition wasn't as important to Barker as ensuring his cards were properly attributed to him a habit which leaves a legacy which enables all of us to enjoy the possibility of owning a card that belonged to one of the early hobbyists who helped define collecting and turn it into the awesome hobby it is today.
