I have one to sell!
Collection of 28 blank-backed trade cards each featuring the likeness of a different US President against a regal-looking background onto which an advertising message was undoubtedly intended to be printed. Advertising trade cards were a unique and interesting way to present an advertising message in 19th Century America as the cards were typically saved and then pasted into albums. Such outstanding branding tools were excellent ways for local businesses to spread the word and the utilization of photographs and illustrations of familiar subjects evolved quite quickly as sports and nonsports cards became common in the latter part of the Century. Included in this collection are John Adams John Quincy Adams (4) Millard Filmore(2) Andrew Jackson (4) Thomas Jefferson (3) Andrew Johnson (2) Abraham Lincoln (3) James Madison (2) James Monroe (5) and Martin Van Buren (2). All appear in EX condition or better with some minor toning with the exception of John Adams which has a small notch taken out of the upper-left edge. 28 cards total.
