Extraordinarily difficult to find and highly prized among type card collectors the T211 Red Sun Cigarettes set were issued in 1910 and features 75 players from the Southern Association. Extremely condition-sensitive due to chipping along the cards" green borders as well as ubiquitous damage to the cards" surface gloss it is likely the vibrant Red Sun Cigarettes back advertisement that makes these cards so appealing to type cards in particular. In the case of these two cards they have sustained significant damage over the years enough to garner only AUTHENTIC grades by SGC. The first of Atlanta Crackers outfielder Roy Moran (who made it to the majors for a cup of coffee with the 1912 Senators) has very significant creasing and staining throughout and has been trimmed (poorly) on all four sides cutting into the card"s green border. The second of star infielder Del Pratt of the Montgomery Billikens (who had an excellent 13-year major league career with St. Louis the Yankees Red Sox and Detroit Tigers) is also well-worn and trimmed on all four sides with corner clips and significant creasing - though not as pronounced as with the Moran.Still these are two extremely scarce cards from a highly sought-after set. From the Rudy Strejc Collection.
