Signatures of Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner are by no means scarce as he was a prolific signer until very late in his long life. What is unique about this example however is that it was signed and mailed in 1948 carrying a postmark of May 22 1948. In 1948 Kiner was just entering his third season with the Pirates a year removed from a 51-home run season. On this day Kiner was 1 for 2 witih an RBI in the Pirates' 3-1 victory over Brooklyn at Ebbets field. The card is postmarked from Brooklyn in outstanding condition authenticated and encapsulated by SGC.
