A second division team the 1948 Washington Senators finished the season with a 56-97 record under the tutelage of manager Joe Kuhel. On June 15 of that season an off day for the team a member mailed this postcard to a gentleman in Massachussetts after having it signed by 12 members of the team. The piece has been signed by John Sullivan (reserve shortstop) Mickey Vernon (first baseman) Bud Stewart (outfielder) Nick Altrock (coach) Mark Christman (shortstop) Joe Kuhel (manager) Sid Hudson (pitcher) Rick Ferrell (HOF coach) Len Okrie (reserve catcher) Carden Gillenwater (reserve outfielder) Ed Yost (third baseman) and Joonior Wooten (outfielder). Each of the signatures are in fantastic condition well-preserved with the exception of a small stain above the signature of Hudson. The Nick Altrock and Rick Ferrell signatures stand alone on the sheet and do not impinge upon the adjacent signatures a plus for someone wishing to make signature cuts. However the piece displays very well on its own having been authenticated and encapsulated by SGC Authentic.
