The 1948 Leaf baseball football and boxing issues were rife with print anomalies miscuts ink bleeding and color variations. Advanced collectors love them chasing after and cataloging each variation building complete master sets. This card featuring Benny Leonard on the front is interesting in that it is backed with an upside down reverse from the John L. Sullivan card. Leonard and Sullivan both members of the International Boxing Hall of Fame are certainly not the only Hall of Famers in the 1948 Leaf set but it is definitely interesting to have a wrong-backed error containing multiple enshrinees. The card itself has been graded VG-EX 4 by PSA but has the eye appeal of a higher-grade specimen; some staining primarily along the left border reduces the numerical grade.
