Bert Lindsay was a goaltender who skated professionally in NHA, NHL, and PCHA from 1910-19, competing for the Renfrew Creamery Kings, Victoria Aristocrats, Montreal Wanderers, and Toronto Arenas. Lindsay is credited with earning the first ever win for a goaltender in NHL history following the first ever NHL game on December 9, 1917 - a 10-9 victory for his Montreal Wanderers against the visiting Toronto Arenas. Lindsay is also the father of Hockey Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay who played in the NHL during the 1940's-60's. This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Lindsay, #21 in the set and his rookie card, exhibits rounding at the corners but otherwise presents beautifully with clean and attractive front and back surfaces. Graded VG 3 by PSA it remains one of only 8 graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.
