Fred "Cyclone" Taylor was a fan favorite and generally considered to be the first real superstar in professional hockey. Taylor played professionally as a defenseman and rover from 1906-22 with his stardom earning comparisons to Ty Cobb in professional baseball. He holds the record for most goals in a Stanley Cup Finals series in the NHL-era with 9, capturing Stanley Cups in both 1909 with the Ottawa Senators and 1915 with the Vancouver Millionares. Taylor was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame with it's second class in 1947 and today the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL present the "Cyclone Taylor Trophy" annually to the team's most valuable player. This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Taylor, #20 in the set, exhibits rounding of the corners and a few chips at the edges. Otherwise, the card presents beautifully with clean and attractive front and back surfaces. Graded VG 3 by PSA it remains one of only 11 graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.
