"Smiling" Al Maul pitched and played the field for 15 seasons, entirely in Pittsburgh during the years Old Judge released N172 cards. This batting pose, one of seven for Maul, is cataloged as #298-2 in the Goodwin & Co. photo reference book. 

The SGC GD+ 2.5 grade reflects overall image quality as modestly detailed and very slightly faded, with some angles to its edge cuts and decent corners for its age.
