Oversized and beautiful, the 1894 N142 Honest Cabinets are among the most visually impressive 19th-century baseball issues. Printed in full color at 6" x 9", the cards feature crisp portraits mounted on thick stock, with no printing on the reverse. Just four baseball subjects are known and this cabinet showing future Hall of Fame inductee George Davis is one of the most desirable 19th-century display pieces. Produced by Duke Tobacco for its Honest brand, this early gem captures Davis just a few seasons into his remarkable, two-decade big-league career. The PSA FR 1.5 grade reflects modest corner wear and eccentric staining along the sides, little of which comes close to the main image. A truly special example from this era.
