Extremely rare ballpark postcard depicting Chicago's West Side Park, home to the National League's Chicago Cubs from 1893-1915. A rarity in the world of ballpark postcard collecting, this card is seldom found in any condition. An early view of the classic park, the card provides a great look at the left field grandstand and bleachers while a packed house enjoys a game in progress. Card exhibits heavy wear including a vertical tear originating at the bottom edge that has been reinforced with clear tape on reverse. Visible creasing, soiling, and well rounded corners are all evident to front surface, with a spot of paper loss along the right edge. Card has been postally used and bears a postmark from July 27, 1912. While we did submit this example for grading with SGC, it was returned to us unholdered.
