Roger Bresnahan popularized catcher's shin guards for major league catchers and almost did the same for helmets on batters, but those took a few more decades to become part of a required uniform. This sunset over Robison Field in St. Louis shows lovely color as his profile backdrop and makes for an above-average SGC VG 3 that features the tough Cycle brand back, something graded at a fraction of more common T206 brands. Corner rounding and light surface marks explain the technical score without distracting from Roger's pleasing pose. A terrific example for this scarce HOFer.
