Cuban-born pitcher Pedro Dibut (sic Dibu) became the first known player for Negro League and MLB pro teams when he suited up as a Cincinnati Red for 1924-25, winning all three of his decisions and posting a sub-3 ERA. He continued with several more seasons of stateside minor league ball thereafter, perhaps breaking down further barriers as baseball lurched toward eventual integration.
